We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, collaborative Research Scientist to support our structural biology workflows. The ideal candidate will be experienced with experimental and computational structural biology tools and will understand how they can be used to answer relevant biological questions. How you might spend your days:
- Providing leadership in structure determination projects, including designing, planning and executing experiments, either independently or in collaboration with teammates
- Establishing and optimizing protocols for expression and purification of wide range of antigens including membrane and soluble proteins
- Engaging in nsEM and CryoEM specimen preparation and data collection
- Identifying and evaluating new technology to improve workflows of image processing and structure interpretation of cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography data
- Collaborating with teams across the company to generate and interpret data
- Training, mentoring, and supervising members of a dynamic team

Required qualifications and experience:
- A PhD in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics or other relevant fields, or MSc with 5+ years of relevant experience in an academic or industry environment
- Experience with recombinant protein techniques including construct design, protein expression, purification, and biophysical characterization
- Demonstrated experience of single particle EM or X-ray crystallography data processing, three-dimensional structure determination and model building
- Computational skills are preferred, but not required. Basic understanding of Linux terminal usage/shell-scripting is required
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of cross-functional team
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills strong verbal and written communication skills
